I am trying to create my first LINQ to SQL. Just downloaded this code. I created a connection using a connection string. Added a designer.vb file from an Entity Framework domain service (because I have one -- don't know why that is required), and tried to generate a LINQ command. I get the error The string was not recognized as a valid Uri. Parameter name: inputUri.
Why does Linqer need a domainservice.vb file, or for that matter a connection string if I am just trying to generate a LINQ command from a sql command?
Here is my select statement: SELECT tblCommittee.CommitteeName, tblSignup_Committee.Agenda, tblSignup_Committee.Minutes, tblSignup_Committee.Report FROM tblCommittee INNER JOIN tblSignup_Committee ON tblCommittee.CommitteeID = tblSignup_Committee.CommitteeID WHERE (tblSignup_Committee.Signup_ID = @p1)

If you don't want to run LINQ statement, you can put any text into the connection string edit box.
