I am getting this error 'SQL cannot be converted to LINQ: "LEFT JOIN" conversion is not supported by Entity Framework." when using left joins in EF. While EF doesn't support left join directly, there are ways to get the same functionality. Why doesn't Linqer use those methods? See examples at stackoverflow.com/questions/700523/linq-to-sql-left-outer-join. There are other similar questions at Stackover.

Linqer 3.5 for .NET 3.5 can't convert "LEFT JOIN" because .NET 3.5 Entity Framework does not support DefaultIfEmpty. But Linqer 4 for .NET 4.0 can convert "LEFT JOIN" because .NET 4.0 ENtity Framework supports DefaultIfEmpty.
